For me, the picture in moment in time, Jan issue 2012 alpe d’huez 1989 with Lemond, Fignon,Alcala, Delgado, Rondon and Rooks represents a time in cycling where individual gladiators fought for glory so much more heroic than nowadays where well oiled teams lead there king bee to victory.
re: july 2012 issue: hexavalent chromium is chromium atoms each with 6 bonding sites, which is a lot – see wikipedia. It’s an industrial chemical. It’s a handy chemical for beginning chemistry students to work with, on paper only! learning to balance equations. It’s a big fat carcinogen, too, inhaled as a dust, very bad news. Those 6 bonding sites and its relatively large-charge nucleus and its similarity to normal harmless atoms are responsible for havoc inside of cells! eekers!
